EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR
Job Description:
To provide exceptional care and educational programs for young children in a group setting under the supervision and direction of the center’s Director.
Qualifications:
- 2 or four 4 ECE Diploma or equivalent approved by the provincial licensing process
- Current criminal reference check (within 3 months)
- Proof of completed health check, including a negative TB test
- Current First Aid certification
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- French speaking an asset
Outline of Job Duties:
- Plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate activities and experiences in accordance with the center’s philosophy
- Individualize the curriculum
- Ensure guidance of children’s behaviour that encourages positive self concept
- Ensure the child’s environment is healthy and safe
- Communicate effectively with parents including scheduled written reports
- Contribute to the on-going operation of the center
- Supervise Assistants in the classroom
- Supervise student ECEs
- Have fun and help make sure everyone else is having fun too
EARLY CHILDHOOD ASSISTANT
Job Description:
To provide exceptional care and educational programs for young children in a group setting under the direction of the classroom ECEs, and supervision of abc Academy’s Director.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children (One day of observation by the Director prior to offer of full or part time employment)
- Current criminal reference check (within 3 months)
- Proof of completed health check, including a negative TB test
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- French speaking an asset
Outline of Job Duties:
- Assist the ECE to plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for the children in accordance with the center’s philosophy and Ministry guidelines
- Individualize the curriculum
- Ensure guidance of children’s behaviour that encourages positive self-concept
- Ensure the children’s environment is healthy and safe
- Communicate effectively with parents
- Contribute to the on-going operation of the center
- Have fun and help make sure everyone else is having fun too
