Our Team



Founder

Wendy Arnold List: Wendy earned her BSc(H), Master of Social Work and MBA. She worked for many years with children and families as a Social Worker at the Children’s Aid Society, Sick Kids Hospital and in private practice family counselling. As abc has grown, it has become Wendy’s full-time job working on the management and administrative side. Wendy’s older kids are proud alumnae of abc-Melrose and her youngest is currently at abc-Bayview.



Management

As abc has grown, so has the team of professionals who run it. Diana and Christina are abc’s Directors – highly experienced child care professionals who were excellent in the classroom and are now excellent in the office. Diana has been instrumental in opening and operating each of the centres from day 1. Gina and Beth are fabulous Supervisors who help support the Directors and staff alike. They run a tight ship so that clients’ expectations (children and parents alike) are not only met, but exceeded.



Staff

We have a terrific group. abc’s teachers are chosen for their energy, ideas, teaching abilities, warmth, creativity and dedication to providing children with the best start to school and beyond. We pride ourselves on hiring excellent teachers, and holding onto them by treating and rewarding them well. Classroom teachers are a mix of fully accredited Early Childhood Educators and trained Teaching Assistants who bring different credentials but equally valuable experiences to the classrooms. We also have incredibly important people working as Centre Coordinators behind the scenes who keep everything running like clockwork, and who also run the kitchen and laundry.



Students

We believe in the value of learning and believe that our staff are among the best in the field, thus have lots of knowledge to share and tricks of trade to show. If the fit is right, we accept highschool and ECE students so they can do their placements at abc.
